Gary Nolton - Director / Cameraman

Biography:
Gary Nolton began his career in his hometown Los Angeles, California, at the prestigious Art Center College of Design, followed by a I-5 journey northward to Portland Oregon, where he opened Nolton Studio. His commercial photographic success for clients nationwide inspired the 1998 launch of his film production company, Limbo Films, where he has concentrated on shooting commercials ever since.

Consistently one of the Northwest's most successful director/cameramen, Gary has worked for an impressive list of agencies: Anderson-Lembke, BBD&O, DDB Needham, Dentsu/Tokyo, FCB, J.Walter Thompson, Leo Burnett, McCann Erikson, Rubin-Postaer and Wieden & Kennedy. His client list is equally impressive: Adidas, Bonita Bay, Budweiser, Coca-Cola, Del Taco, Dunlop Golf, Gatorade, Honda, LL Bean, McDonalds, Microsoft, Nike, Precept Golf, and Sony.

20 years of experience have served him well: Agency creatives clamor for his compositions and beautiful lighting. Producers consistently note his ability to work quickly to achieve striking footage with copious editorial options.

Gary also specializes in working with celebrities & professional athletes. Michael Jordan, Andre Agassi, Garth Brooks, Martina Navratilova, Shaquille O'Neil, Nick Faldo, Picabo Street, Mia Hamm, David Robinson, Nolan Ryan, Bo Jackson, Wayne Gretzky, & Gabrielle Reece have all stood before his camera.

His work has been recognized by the Telly Awards, Communication Arts Magazine, The New York Art Directors Club, The London Art Directors Club, Best in the West, and the Portland Rosey Awards. Also of note, Nolton's black & white poster image of Michael Jordan titled 'Wings' hangs in the permanent collection of the United States Library of Congress, as well as his 10 year old's bedroom.
