"Marathon" Special Olympics A young athlete is seen training at the ancient Teotihnacan pyramids in Mexico. His voice, still in Spanish, is audible throughout, followed by Andy Garcia's English translation. We learn that for this athlete, the road is a taunting enemy, constantly telling him to give up. But, the athlete says simply, it's not the road he's listening to, as the sound design swells with a chorus of his family and countrymen. The assignment was to connect the viewer to the thoughts and feelings of the runner and to give voice to his environment, the Teotihnacan pyramids.
