Biography:
Amy Jussel has worked as both a client and creative in the advertising realm, so she brings a unique understanding to marketing projects. Prior to opening her own business as an advertising and promotional writer in 1984, she was an award-winning Senior Copywriter at Dailey & Associates Advertising, on the Royal Viking Line account. On the client side, she was Director of Advertising & Promotions for American Hawaii Cruises during the inception & launch of this two ship cruiseline.
Amy continues to specialized in high end consumer goods & new product development bringing senior level branding expertise to clients & agencies à la carte. She has considerable industry experience in media/entertainment, & travel/tourism, though her ad agency background lends itself to strategic marketing and creative execution on a wide range of retail, software, medical, senior living/resort, food/wine accounts, packaged goods & services & B2B accounts.
Amy is currently launching a new venture as Founder/Executive Director of ShapingYouth.com, a consortium of media and marketing professionals concerned about harmful messages to children via media. She is implementing innovative programs for parents and kids (via film, web, hands-on education, & curricula enrichment) to build awareness and promote healthier values by using the power of the media turned on itself. (essentially, creating a 'counterspin' to flip the message in a more positive direction using the techniques and training of advertising insiders!) Amy is also writing/producing a film short, "Body Blitz: Media Shaping Youth" focusing on the acceleration of childhood through corporate profit motives and the societal impact on 'tweens' 8-12.(using the internet for distribution) Amy Jussel's "Turn Down the Media Volume" tagline has become a bipartisan rebel yell for concerned parents, and the collective conscience of communicators desiring to rein in their own industry.
